Q: Is after-school childcare provided?

Answer: The school provides childcare services, Monday to Friday: morning care from 7:30 to 8:20 in the morning, and after school care from 3:30 to 6:00 in the afternoon. From 3:30-4:30 pm, the library organizes self-study for students in grades 3-8. If the student is still at school after 4:00, they will automatically be placed in the custody of after-school childcare. Courses include basketball, debate, Minecraft, chess, drama, choir, martial arts, robotics, programming, yoga.

Q: Does the school provide a school bus for the convenience of transportation? If so, at what grade does it start?

Answer: Open Window School provides morning bus transportation for all families of students in grades K-8. There are two routes, I-405 route includes South Kirkland-Bellevue-Mercer Island; and Sammamish/Issaquah route. Families can choose to sign up for a year-round unlimited plan or decide the number of days to travel by themselves. Due to the uncertain time of after-school activities, the school does not provide school bus shuttle service.

Answer: The school maintains a diversified enrollment strategy. According to age, able-bodied/disabled people, race, family composition, gender, language differences, race, religion, sexual orientation, and whether they are from private schools and under-represented groups (Blacks, Latinos, and Native Americans).

Lower grades: The school program involves five core competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, interpersonal skills, and responsible decision-making. The school will arrange for teachers and counselors to collaborate to create courses and collect ideas and activities from a variety of resources. Courses may include role-playing, puppet stories , community building activities, or class discussions, self-reflection, group problem solving, and many other positive learning experiences.

Middle School: To enable young people to learn to regulate emotions, care for others, observe morals and assume responsibilities, and make correct decisions.
