Successfully obtaining admission to top independent schools is a huge undertaking for parents and students! Standardized tests, parent/student interviews, and questionnaires all demonstrate a student’s personal abilities and unique strengths. With our help, your child will stand out among other applicants and flourish in a “best fit” educational environment!

A licensed psychologist will observe your student in their classroom. Please email info@sealinkconsulting.com to make an appointment.

A licensed psychologist will complete a standardized cognitive assessment (IQ test) with your child. Please email info@sealinkconsulting.com to make an appointment.

Fill out questionnaire.

Parents complete SeaLink Consulting’s unique questionnaire and have an initial meeting with an Educational Consultant. This help us understand your student’s background and allows us to begin identifying “best fit” educational environments.

Optional school observation with report

A licensed psychologist will observe your student in their classroom. You will be given a written report that highlights your student’s strengths and interests and provides insights into their interactions with teachers and peers. This is for students who are applying to pre-k and kindergarten.

Optional cognitive assessment with a written report

A licensed psychologist will complete a standardized cognitive assessment (IQ test) with your child. The appropriate IQ test will vary based on your child’s unique cultural and linguistic background. You will be given a written report that highlights your student’s reasoning, problem solving, and executive functioning skills. The report will provide insight into the type of educational environment in which your child will thrive. This is for students who are applying to kindergarten or higher.

Based on the previous items, our Educational Consultant will generate a list of up to 8 recommended schools for your child.

Based on family preference and other factors, parents select 5 schools as target schools.

Guidance for Written Application. 

Our Education Consultant will support parents and students in refining their application essays and emphasizing their unique strengths. Note that we cannot write any essays for parents or students.

Prepare parents and students for interviews.

Our Educational Consultant will provide interview practice and suggestions on potential questions for parent and/or student interviews. These may vary depending on the application process for individual schools.

Provide enrollment advice after admission.

After you receive admission decisions from schools, our Education Consultant will guide parents through the confirmation and registration process.
