A: The student to faculty ratio is 8:1 with our median class size is 17 in the Middle School and 15 in the Upper School for the 2021-22 school year. Class sizes range from 8 to 22 students depending upon the type and demand for the particular class.

2. Supplemental materials

  • Student Essay

  • Three (3) Teacher evaluations

    • At least one teacher should be a current teacher.

    • Two of the teacher evaluations should address the core academic subjects of Math and English.

    • A third teacher evaluation of your choice.

  • Transcripts/Grade Reports

    • Academic records for the current school year and the two prior school years (2019-20, 2020-2021, and 2021-22)

    • For students attending schools on a semester grading system, those reports can be submitted after the January 13 deadline.

 

3. Standardized testing

Seattle Academy believes standardized tests are only one data point in the much larger picture of a student. In light of the evolving educational testing landscape due to COVID-19, Seattle Academy is not requiring an entrance exam. If a family would like to submit standardized testing data they are free to do so, however, it is not required or expected. Each completed application will be considered fully, with or without exam scores.

  • ISEE or SSAT: For families choosing to take either the ISEE or SSAT our school codes are 481154 (ISEE) and 7240 (SSAT).

 

4. Student visit day

Once an application is submitted, prospective families can register for a student visit day through Ravenna. We recommend scheduling a visit day as soon as possible as spots will fill quickly. 

 

5. Parent/guardian interview

Once a family completes and submits an application, they can register for a parent/guardian interview through Ravenna.

  • This is a required component and the interview lasts approximately 30 minutes. Your child should not attend the meeting. 

  • These meetings will be virtual Zoom calls. Families will receive the Zoom meeting link after registering in Ravenna.

  • Our goal is to get to know applicants better and for families to gain information that helps them determine if Seattle Academy is the best fit for their family. 

  • Interpreter services are available upon request.
